New students typically complete a free assessment to ensure they are placed in the most suitable class.
Is there an assessment placement test?
Yes, most new students complete an assessment before joining a class.
This helps us understand your child's current level and pair them with the right group.
The assessment is free and usually takes at least one hour.
When can my child start?
Students can join at any time during the term, although the start of a term is ideal
so they don't miss foundational content. If your child joins mid-term, we will adjust
he fees on a pro-rata basis where appropriate.
How big are the classes?
Class sizes vary by program but typically range from 2-10,
small enough for individual attention while still allowing collaborative learning.
Can my child change classes during the term?
Yes. If you feel the class is not the right fit, please speak with our office.
We will work with you to find a better match — whether that is a different level, time slot, or program.

Tuition is charged per week, with a separate material fee per term. Fees may be adjusted
at the start of each term. Please refer to your invoice for the exact rate that applies to your child.

5. Our Programs
Regular Tuition (Y1 – Y12)
Our regular weekly tuition covers Mathematics, English, Writing, General Ability & Thinking Skills
— the core areas tested in selective school exams. Lessons combine textbook work,
in-class practice, and homework with weekly feedback.
OC (Opportunity Class) Preparation
The OC program is designed for Year 3 and Year 4 students preparing for the Opportunity Class Placement Test, which determines entry into NSW Year 5 OC classes. Our curriculum covers
Reading, Mathematical Reasoning, and Thinking Skills.

We recommend starting OC preparation at the beginning of Year 3 to allow sufficient time
to build strong foundations before the Year 4 test.
STT (Selective Test Trial)Â
Selective Test Trials prepares Year 5 and Year 6 students for the NSW Selective High School Placement Test. Our STT classes cover Reading, Mathematical Reasoning, Thinking Skills, and Writing all aligned with the latest test format.
Are STT classes more intensive than regular classes?
Yes. STT classes typically include more practice papers, timed test conditions, and
dedicated test-taking strategy sessions. Students should expect minimum 2 hours of weekly homework in addition to class time.
What does the Writing program cover?
Our Writing program develops creative writing, persuasive writing, and analytical writing skills
— all critical for selective tests, school assessments, and future high school English.
Each lesson includes a writing task with detailed feedback from the teacher.
6. Homework & Assessments
Is homework given every week?
Yes. Weekly homework reinforces what is taught in class and is essential for steady progress.
Time required varies by year group and program.
How is homework checked?
We review homework every week. Individual feedback is given on writing tasks and harder questions.
How often are tests held?
Most classes have term test commencing from week 7.
Will I receive my child's test results?
Yes. We provide written feedback after each major term test, including a score breakdown,
strengths, areas for improvement, and recommended next steps. For OC/STT students, we also benchmark against historical entry cut-offs. Parents can check the report vis csonlineshool.com.au
Can I request extra practice materials?
Absolutely. Speak with the office, and we can recommend or supply additional practice
— particularly in the lead-up to OC/STT tests.
